Why Minecraft game still popular for many years after its initial release? Minecraft Modding allows player to alter the way the game looks and behaves. In this class, student will learn to create their own Minecraft Modding using Java Coding. Students will learn to code custom item, custom block, custom textures, and ability to launch any entity such as creeper in the air.  Modding Minecraft is quite fun and challenging.

Beginner to Intermediate.

Introduction to Parallax Robotic (5th-8th Grade)

 Monday - Friday                                                                                                                                  1.00p.m.-4p.m.

This basic, yet capable, educational robot is great for developing early critical thinking and logic skills.  Matched perfectly with the visual BlocklyProp programming tool, the Scribbler 3 robot can be programmed using simple graphical blocks that snap together quickly and easily.  It has seen a great deal of success being implemented in elementary environments .  Students will be learning S3 Robots.

Do you like to play games? How would you like to learn to create your own game instead of playing them? This course teaches students how to create their own role-playing game. Students will learn basic character design, level design, game planning, collision detection, environment background, and sound.

STEM Challenges (5th-8th Grade)                                                        1.00p.m.-4.30p.m.

Monday - Friday*

Thought and observation are fundamental skills in STEM learning.  Students in this course will observe how various materials and invisible forces store energy and affect other matter.  To expand upon these basic fundamentals, students will also learn the engineering design process by building fun and challenging games.

•  Structural Building

•  Aerodynamics

•  Rocketry

•  Rube Goldberg (kinetic energy transfer)

Monday - Friday                                                                                                                                    9.00a.m.-Noon

What is Arduino? Arduino is an open-source platform used for building electronics projects. Students can bring gadgets to life with Arduino™ and its software. Learn how to program electronics and use the Arduino™ micro controller to control real-world objects. We teaches these young minds both basic computer programming and electrical concepts using hands-on experiments. It easily lends itself to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).  *NOTE: Material Fees is $30 for Arduino Kit. Student will get to keep this kit as part of Project Base Learning

Training Workshop for VEX IQ 2018-19 Competition (5th-8th Grade)

Monday - Friday                                                                                                                                    1.00p.m.-4p.m.

Engineering Challenge will give students a wide variety of fun and engaging science projects using Project Based Learning (PBL) and a 21st Century learning environment.  This program is an introduction to creative building and problem solving using STEAM allowing students to gain exposure of varied hand building projects with focus on the learning of physical science, mechanical design, material science, applying math for building, research, and science lab writing.

Student will be working in team settings to complete two challenges that requires research, engineering design process, and trial and error.  Through this course, there will be mini challenges to help students have more insight of learning the two projects-based challenge during the summer.

1. Build simple machines.

2. Build motorized machine.
